Finding great coffee places with single origin beans when travelling is still a nightmare - unfortunately apps like Airbnb and booking.com don’t have features for this, and any time I see nespr*sso in my hotel room I feel like checking out. The first version of a new app to solve this problem is underway, but it’s slow going so far while I figure out a nice user experience. Not quite ready to invite everyone yet!
In the meantime, I received a PicoPresso - a great alternative to espresso on the road. The flavour is pretty similar to a Moka pot though doesn’t need a stove which is convenient for e.g. hotel stays. I got a gucci TIMEMORE grinder too which is 1000000% more convenient and consistent than a hand grinder.
My first coffee was a nightmare as I didn’t take the rubber protective thing off the bottom and the pressure caused the water to blast out the sides… the second was more successful but I’m still figuring out the grind setting for this delicious Kenyan bean.

I had it in a coffee shop today (Kurasu Singapore), and though I typically prefer a super light roast, its fruitiness was off the charts and I had to have it.
I’ll report back when I’ve got a better grind setting.
Don’t forget to sign up for early access to the coffee logging and discovery app I’m building!
